Community Engagement for Green Space Protection: Threats and Opportunities

Montreal Park Forum
Hosted: mai 26, 2022

The more and healthier green spaces we have, the better off we are! However, do municipalities always have sufficient regulatory and legal leverage to protect natural environments?

Jean-François Girard, a specialist in environmental law, will discuss the ways to apply this leverage. Isabelle Bérubé, Director of Development for the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – Quebec Chapter, will present projects that demonstrate the important contribution of community engagement and community support to environmental protection.

As Minister responsible for the Montreal Metropolis and its region, Chantale Rouleau, will address the participants.
